Eight Strings & a Whistle translates into innovative programming, stirring music and some of the most memorable performances you’ll hear. Our repertoire features the unique combination of flute, viola and cello and draws from a wide range of sources –– there are works from the Baroque, Classical, Romantic and Modern periods, as well as pieces composed expressly for us. Our goal for every program is to create a whole that is intriguing, exciting and engaging. Eight Strings & a Whistle in Concert

Concert at Spectrum

Please join us at Spectrum for a collaborative concert with the wonderful pianist Beth Levin, for the premiere Scott Brickman's quartet, Ninetly Six Strings and Two Whistles! We'll also be performing Thought's Torsion by Peri MauerOctavio Vazquez's Trio and selections from Chopin's Piano Sonata Op.35.

$10. Students and seniors

Spectrum is a second floor space, is accessible by stairs and regretably does not have an elevator.

We are so excited to be welcoming Scott Brickman as our latest Featured Composer. We're going to be performing and recording a lot of his music in the coming season. We're looking forward to presenting the world premiere of Peri Mauer’s Thought’s Torsion, a work inspired by the energy generated from the twisting and spiraling of human thoughts and emotions. We're also excited to be performing Martin Rokeach’s Going Up? and Scott Brickman’s French Suite, both composed for Eight Strings & a Whistle.
